Friends…

Heyy!

This blog post is going to be all about friends and friendship. I just got in a fight with my closest friends the other day,  but we’re all good now…thank goodness. :) I just want to share with you what friends/friendship means to me.

What is a friend? A friend is someone who loves you for the way you are and doesn’t want to change one thing about you. A friend is someone who never gets sick of you, no matter how much you’re around. A friend is a shoulder to cry on, someone that will always be there for you in your time of need. A friend is a very special person, a gift, really. You should cherish the friendships you’ve made now forever, don’t lose the people you hung around with in high school, keep them close, they are only ever a phone call away.

DON’T’s: A friend should never make plans and not include you. A friend should never run away from you, just to “bond” with another person. A friend should never talk about you to your face or behind your back. A friend should never be dis-honest to you. A friend should never tell anyone else your personal secrets that you told him/ her. A friend should never say “no” when you need them.

Good Times: One of my all time favourite “good time” I’ve had with my friends Ashley and Tiff, was driving around in her convertible mustang for an hour straight. We laughed and waved to everyone the whole hour and never let the smiles leave our faces. We cranked the tunes and belted our guts out. It was amazingly fun. Another ultimate “good time” was when Elaine and I were sitting out in the middle of the lake on an inflatable mattress. We thought we saw a HUGE fish coming to eat us, we couldn’t get out of the water faster. We spent the rest of the time rolling around laughing. One last “good time” I want to share with you guys is when Sara and I were laying on her basement floor. We started playing “Steam Roller” and it was so funny because that is the most kiddish thing ever. We had so much fun and couldn’t stop laughing after that.

A good friend is hard to find, hard to loose, and impossible to forget….

Semi ‘08

Heyy!

So, you all know that Semi-Formal was on May 10th for us Snow Lakers. In my first post you read about how I got ready and now I’m going to tell you all about actually being there.

The dance started at 7:00p.m. and went until 10:00p.m. I arrived at 7 and gave my ticket to the people at the door. The chaperones for the dance are usually teachers from our school, so yeah. I met up with my friends Skye and Logyn. They looked gorgeous, as did everyone else. :P When I walked into our school gym, it was absoulutely breath taking. There were lights lining the floor and a bunch of balloons in the middle of the floor. There were about 7 tables with a bunch of chairs around them and they all had 2 candles and a beautiful center piece. In the corner they had a non-alchoholic bar set up with drinks such as Root Beer Twist and Jungle Berry Fizz and Appletini. They also had a food table set up betweent the dj booth and the bar. They had fruit trays, meat trays, buns, etc.

I hung out at a table with my friends Skyler, Tyler, Ashley, Elaine, Sara, Logyn, Skye,  Hannah, Paige, and Randy. We spent most of the night just drinking drinks and talking, but I did dance a few slow songs and did the Casper Slide #4. It was an amazing night and everyone looked so dolled up. :D I just hate how it comes and goes so quickly. I wish it would go on longer than just 3 hours. I can hardly wait to see how next years Semi-Formal turns out. :)

Getting Ready!

Filed under: *Weekends* — Anna at 12:26 pm on Saturday, May 10, 2008

Heyy!

Now, as you all know Snow Lake is a very small town, so we don’t actually get a big blowout prom like other people in the city do. We do, however, get a Semi-Formal. It is for Grades 7-12 in our school. Everyone dresses up, mostly girls in dresses and guys in dress pants and shirt. Semi-Formal is a lot more work than just putting on a dress and shoes and going. You need a lot of work behind all of that to look your absoulute best.

You need to pluck, paint, and beautify before you can go anywhere. I spent today, so far, painting my toenails the same colour as my dress (which is red), plucking my eyebrows, and doing facials. I want to make sure that I can look as good as possible because there will be a lot of competition tonight. :P I usually spend the day relaxing and beautifying before Semi-Formal at 7 tonight. You also need to make sure your hair looks perfect and your make-up applied just right. It takes a few hours to get to look as good as we do. :P

When all the beautifying is finished, everyone looks stunning and we all go out to have a great night of fun with all of our close friends. Tell me, what do you do when you have to start getting ready for your Semi-Formal/ Prom?
